Recently I was invited to participate in a trade delegation to China and Korea on behalf of Penrith. Hope you enjoy the photos.

A PENRITH business delegation’s recent Asian trip has been hailed a success.

The group travelled to China and Korea seeking investment opportunities for Penrith.

Penrith Business Alliance chairman Paul Brennan said the trip sealed several things for Penrith.

“The visit to both China and Korea has clearly achieved the primary objective of selling Penrith as a place to do business with support provided by a dedicated agency (the PBA) established by council,” he said.

“Our international links viewed this separation of functions as a very positive step and were happy to deal with the PBA on business issues.

“This adds a new dimension to the PBA’s functions and has the potential to expand our business in Asia’s biggest markets and may lead to some collaboration in key strategic projects.”

Some of the opportunities realised included:

  • WORKING together on cost-effective and user-friendly health services including e-health with China and Korea.
  • PROMOTION of Penrith as a tourist destination.
  • PROMOTING industry and educational facilities to a wider international audience through an invitation from the Kunshan Government to attend an expo next year.
  • MUTUAL co-operation with Korea on green industries.
  • A FUTURE visit by Chinese business people to explore investment opportunities in Penrith.
